I caught a Cupacabra
Today’s adventure
Today I woke up, did a little work, then embarked on a bike trip downtown with my SO. We visited an Asian grocery where we procured the ingredients to make a wonderful Pad Thai. We then trekked down our main strip and stopped off in a downtown plaza to listen to live Jazz music while sipping our Japanese carbonated tea before heading home. Along the way home we met a walking human interest piece, Mr. John Littrell. Mr. Littrell runs the oldest upholstery business in the area from a shop in his backyard. He’s found a new market for his craft doing wild interiors with custom embroidery for old cars. His tiny shop is packed to the gills with vinyl, leather, padding, and the other sundry items that make up an upholstery shop. He opened his shop in 1946, and has apparently made quite the name for himself in his industry.
After our tour of Mr. Littrell’s shop, we said our goodbyes, and headed back home to prepare lunch.
Where did we do all this? Florence, Alabama, the Renaissance City. For all its shortcomings, Florence is still a city that I’m proud to call Home.
